R.I.P. Megaupload

By Keiichi - Posted on 19 January 2012

Very sad news! Megaupload, my favorite file sharing host has been shut down by the government! Amazing that this happens one day after the SOPA/PIPA Protest.

As you know, Megaupload has been our main means of supplying your anime fix to you, so we are going to have to figure out a new way to go. We are open to any suggestions! Please comment on this post if you have any ideas. Also, please be patient as we let all of this blow over and figure out what we're going to do next.

Thanks for your continued support,

Hello. I have some goods sugestions. You should try RapidShare and Mediafire.

Those companies have completely different business model than our previous hosts, and Rapidshare already won few big cases in court, so it should be safe.

Also, I find that the filesize of those hosts is decent and enough for the size of anime episodes.

Right, Mediafire is what I have in mind. I used to use it here with great success, but I switched to Megaupload because at the time, they held the files longer. Rapidshare was a thought, but it's not very free user friendly because of the long wait time between files.

Mediafire lets you download multiple files at once and all at max speed with no wait times!

In fact, I've already started transferring files to my old Mediafire account, but I've been waiting for all of this filehost stuff to cool down a bit first to make sure it sticks this time! It does seem like the way to go though.

Thanks for confirming it as a good idea!
